Read For Trees Community Reading Challenge Banner, plant growing out of shoe.

Venture into the pages of a good book and make a difference—one leaf at a time.

Track your reading this summer to support native tree planting in our community. Thanks to our friends at Green By Nature - The more you read the more we plant!

For every 100 leaves we earn together we unlock the ability to plant a new tree!

Green By Nature

Trees and vegetation not only provide an enjoyable environment for our community and visitors to enjoy but help our environment in many ways. Horowhenua District Council, alongside our maintenance team Green by Nature, are committed to being kaitiaki of open spaces. Our planting programme helps offset the effects of a warming climate due to their cooling properties, supports a biodiverse ecology and provide shade for our tamariki and much, much more.
